Mayors, NGOs and Business Reps host Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Day on Parliament Hill, October 27, 2016

Westbrook Public Affairs led the organisation of the first joint Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Day on Parliament Hill with the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative, the Council of the Great Lakes Region, the Great Lakes Fishery Commission, Freshwater Future, the Canadian Environmental Law Association, World Wildlife Fund Canada, the Alliance for the Great Lakes, le Regroupement des Organismes de Bassins Versants du Québec, and Stratégies Saint Laurent. On October 27th, the mayors, NGOs, Fishery advocates and business representatives met with Ministers, opposition members and other parliamentarians to present a united front advocating for strong protection of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence basin. A reception in Centre Block on October 26th featured US Ambassador Bruce Heyman and IJC Canadian Chair Gordon Walker.
